Embraer selects AuRA™ managed service from MainTrack
La Jolla, CA - November 01, 2004 – Embraer, one of the world’s largest regional aircraft manufacturers headquartered in Brazil, has selected MainTrack’s Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) solution based on the AuRA™ software from MIRO Technologies (formerly Spirent Systems), the enterprise MRO software company relied on by over 150,000 end-users. AuRA™ will be delivered as a Managed Service by MainTrack Services B.V. (MainTrack), the Application Service Provider (ASP) who has teamed with MIRO and T-Systems as the host provider. The Managed Service will support Embraer’s new Remote Maintenance Optimized Tracking (ReMOT) service for their Legacy customers.
Developed specifically to meet the needs of the aviation maintenance processes for both aircraft operators and third party MRO market, AuRA™ is a fully integrated solution, covering all the aspects of both maintenance and supply. AuRA™ streamlines aviation business processes and tackles some of the most complex challenges facing maintenance operations, such as configuration management. A highly flexible solution, AuRA™ can be customized to an airline’s preferences and tailored to the organization’s unique structure through AuRA’s unique enterprise model. AuRA™ also can be interfaced as necessary with ERP, flight operations and legacy systems, a critical requirement for many airline operators.
Embraer will initially use AuRA™ at its facilities in France and Brazil to assist a growing number of Legacy business jet and shuttle operators to support the maintenance and engineering management of their aircraft. Embraer engineers and maintenance support experts will utilise the features of AuRA™ to provide an enhanced level of total care. The ASP delivery mechanism, using secure internet access, is ideal for this type of service. Embraer staff and customers alike will be able to share and access information instantly using the power of the Web.
“This solution is perfect for an operation like ours,” said Antonio Martini, Director for Embraer’s Fleet Support. He added, “We selected AuRA™ as it really covers all aspects of our business in a truly integrated way. The solution is backed by the strength of T-Systems to assure excellence in support infrastructure for Embraer’s Legacy customers.”
“We are delighted to be working with a world-class aircraft manufacturer like Embraer,” said Vincent Monteparte, President of MIRO Technologies. “AuRA™ has now become accessible and affordable to Embraer operators, who in the past have often been limited to very small or out-dated IT systems.”
“Flexibility was a key requirement”, said Luciano Castro, Team Leader for Embraer’s Optimized Maintenance Solutions Team, “and the ASP program packaged by MIRO Technologies and MainTrack gives us that. We support small, dispersed operators worldwide and need to be able to quickly set-up facilities, anytime and anywhere, with absolutely no IT infrastructure other than a telephone line and a PC. T-Systems assure the service level needed to quickly resolve any problems.”
AuRA™ customers opting for the ASP program rely upon MainTrack and T-Systems to take care of the technology, IT management and support tasks, thus minimizing up-front investment and project risk. ASP program customers essentially rent the AuRA™ software with a pay-as-you-use it monthly fee, which is determined by the number of users, and everything else is taken care of in turn-key fashion. Implementation of AuRA™ is greatly simplified under the ASP program. In the case of Embraer, AuRA™ was installed at one of T-Systems’ 50 data centres, so the technical set-up of Embraer’s instance was a matter of days. Data migration and initial user training have also now been completed.
MainTrack’s MRO solution featuring AuRA™ has a number of launch customers, including regional airlines, low cost carriers and JAR145 MRO facilities. Commenting on the Embraer selection, Marcel Kalsbeek, Managing Partner for MainTrack said, ”We are delighted to welcome Embraer into the rapidly growing ASP service. Our partners MIRO Technologies and T-Systems responded well to the challenge of deploying AuRA™ for Embraer at their facilities in both Brazil and in France.”
